McGuire Cycling volunteers joined our partner organization, San Francisco Bicycle Coalition (SFBC), to create handmade Valentine's cards for Muni drivers. Our teammates and sponsor joined alongside other bike commuters to send a message of thanks to Muni drivers for helping to share the road and keep the city streets safe for cyclists.
From the SFBC website report:
"We just want these hard-working drivers to know that we are grateful when they safely share the road with bicyclists and for the valuable service that they provide to cyclists through the bikes on buses program" says Josh Hart, Program Director.
Committed Bicycle Coalition volunteers constructed hundreds of handmade cards, thanking Muni operators for being an important part of reducing car traffic in the City and for respecting cyclists? right to the road. The cards were delivered to Muni operators along their routes and at key bus depots around the City, along with a bouquet of flowers, on the morning of Valentine's Day, February 14th.
